TAMPA, FL – Westchase Golf Club recently hosted the Westchase Classic, an official FCWT Junior Golf event featuring 78 top junior golfers from across the United States and over 15 foreign countries.
As Westchase regulars would expect, the 17th hole was the toughest par-4 (4.73 average tournament score), #2 was the toughest par-5, and the third hole was the most difficult par- 3. The par-5 13th proved the easiest, yielding an average score of 4.89, with one eagle and 28 birdies. The Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) helps young men and women in their pursuit of earning a college scholarship through the challenge of competitive golf. The FCWT is in its eleventh season of competition in 2007 and 2008 and offers over 50 tournaments at top golf courses throughout the country. Jim McLean and Laura Diaz are the honorary chairpersons for the Boys Division and the Girls Division, respectively.
“We were honored to host the Westchase Classic and some of the top junior golfers around,” stated Clay Thomas, General Manager of Westchase Golf Club. “The competition was great and the course was the perfect stage for these junior golfers to display their talents,” added Thomas. |
