TAMPA - The Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Florida Open. The FSGA will begin conducting the Florida Open in 2009. There will not be a Florida Open this year.
“The FSGA has acquired the Florida Open in an effort to restore the event to its former status as the State’s premier Championship for professionals and amateurs,” said Jim Demick, FSGA Executive Director. “The FSGA will work very closely with the PGA Sections and the PGA members of Florida to develop a first-class championship to predominately include Florida Section Professionals, amateurs and some non-affiliated professionals."

HUDSON, Fla. - I didn't need a computer to tell me that my golf game is subpar.
But it told me anyway.
It's the P3Pro Simulator, a computer system that allows golfers to play indoors. It has holes and it tells you how to improve your game and make better shots.
Steve LaFalce, owner and instructor at Indoor Golf Center in Hudson, was gracious enough to play four holes with me.
"Half of the people who come here come to play golf on the setup," LaFalce said. "It is like a video game. …Young guys like to come, but there are some older ones, the ones who (are retired). But I'd say it's a good setup for guys who don't want to spend a lot of money and just come out (to golf).
"It's a learning tool. That's why I brought it in here. You get feedback."

Hello again everyone. In the last several years, the West Central Chapter, North Florida PGA has become one of the front runners throughout the country in developing a strong relationship with its partners. With a strong tournament schedule and increased participation with our Pro-Am and junior golf tournaments, our sponsors have certainly been able to see results from their support.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the following companies to the Chapter and thank them for their support. Tampa Bay Safety Surfacing, Chili’s and Bridgestone are the latest partners to come on board. We certainly look forward to a mutually rewarding relationship with these outstanding companies. It is this type of support that makes our Chapter one of the most successful in the country. It doesn’t hurt to have great weather year-round so that sponsors can receive maximum exposure at each of the scheduled events.
