Since Bill Blair purchased Mainlands Golf Club in 1971, this par 67 course has carved out its niche by offering affordable rates and quality conditions in a relaxed and easy going atmosphere. At 4,803 yards from the tips Mainlands’ length makes it a favorite with mature and ‘more experienced’ golfers, as well as newcomers to the sport. A typical Florida golf course, the open fairways of Mainlands are generally kind to shots hit with less than perfect aim. Water comes into play on about half of the holes. However, only two feature forced carries both under 100 yards. Formerly an executive course, renovations concluded 4 years ago have bumped up the course’s yardage and rating. The affectionate term “mid-links” was coined by several of the regulars as a designation for a course too long to be executive and yet still short of championship status.
Once you come out and play Mainlands, it is easy to see why this is the home course to so many locals and loyal seasonal visitors alike. There is a good chance that after your first experience you will want to join one of the numerous leagues that play at Mainlands, or even start your own. Leagues are comprised of all types of groups every weekday in season, with some playing all year round. Check with the staff for details. With all of the golfing going on one might think it difficult to secure a tee time. Well, it’s not as tough as it used to be. Mainlands Golf Club has opened up its tee sheet to online booking. Tee times can be booked anywhere from 3 to 6 days out by visiting the website. Simply follow the links to the online reservation system and you can book a time that fits your schedule…24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Last minute tee times (less than 72 hours out) can be made by stopping by the course or calling the pro shop at (727) 577-4847.

Nestled in the heart of Pinellas County awaits Mainlands Golf Club, a favorite of both local and visiting golfers for almost 40 years. Dotted with pines and palms, Mainlands sits just back from bustling U.S. Highway 19 in Pinellas Park, one mile north of Park Boulevard. Tucked away inside the Mainlands residential community, this is one of the few family owned and operated courses in the Tampa Bay Area. It’s comforting to know that in this day and age of constant change some things remain the same.
Comprised of 9 par 3’s, 7 par 4’s, and with a par 5 on each nine, the
course now offers a little something for everyone. A natural match for
golfers without long bomber distance, Mainlands does tease longer
hitters with the possibility of driving the green on several of its par
4’s. Both par 5’s, with a well placed drive, also tease for eagles.
Inside the pro shop is a full snack bar offering hot dogs, sandwiches
and drinks. You’re welcome to stop by at the turn or after your round
and swap golf stories with the staff and a few of the regulars.
